田中孝明が木彫を志す契機となったルーヴル美術館所蔵《サモトラケのニケ》との出会いから30年という節目に、原点の地パリで開催される初のヨーロッパ個展。
楠を素材に手彫りで制作される田中の彫刻は、女性像を通して自然への畏敬や生命の循環、祈りの感覚を内包し、木の温もりとともに観る者の感覚に静かに訴えかけます。
本展における田中の新たな創作の「道（Chemin）」の始まりを是非ご高覧ください。
Marking 30 years since Komei Tanaka’s formative encounter with Winged Victory of Samothrace at the Louvre—an experience that inspired him to pursue wood sculpture—this exhibition represents his first solo show in Europe, held in Paris, the place where it all began.
Carved by hand from camphor wood, Tanaka’s sculptures embody a sense of reverence for nature, the cycle of life, and quiet prayer through the form of the female figure. Infused with the warmth of the material, his works gently appeal to the viewer’s senses.
